II. Main Cabinet Parameters

The upper and lower cabinets feature a modular, disassemblable structure. The panels are crafted from 5–8 mm thick PP polypropylene sheets in ivory white (with an optional porcelain‑white option), joined in a seamless, full‑panel design. After precise CNC machining, the panels are welded together, delivering excellent resistance to strong acids and alkalis. The lower cabinet’s welds incorporate edge‑folding reinforcements—such as “mouth‑type,” “U‑type,” and “T‑type” profiles—ensuring structural stability and robust load‑bearing capacity. The left and right side panels are integrally formed with rounded, arc‑shaped edges that connect to the front left and right uprights, providing enhanced stability and rigidity. This curved‑edge design promotes steady airflow, minimizes gas leakage, and safeguards operator safety. Additionally, the interior panel incorporates a one‑piece, molded maintenance access window, facilitating convenient inspection and servicing of water, electrical, and pneumatic lines.

III. Window Lifting System Configuration

The window sliding door is a vertically sliding type, featuring a balanced‑position mechanism that allows it to stop at any desired operating height. Counterweights are mounted directly within the counterweight track on the back panel, minimizing space consumption and ensuring smooth, effortless operation of the glass door. The window handle is integrally molded from aluminum alloy profiles and incorporates a glass insert at its base, offering exceptional hardness, high‑temperature resistance, and excellent resistance to corrosion and deformation. On both sides, PVC clamping strips are extruded as a single piece and seamlessly integrated with the glass edges via an embedded joint, providing low friction while enhancing safety and durability. The window glass is 5 mm thick tempered glass, bearing the 3C safety mark; it boasts superior strength, excellent flexural resistance, and, upon breakage, does not produce sharp, angular fragments. The window’s lifting and balancing system employs a synchronized design: synchronous‑belt drive ensures precise positioning, exerts minimal axial load, and delivers outstanding wear resistance and aging performance.

IV. Gas Diversion Device

The deflector is fabricated from 5-mm-thick PP polypropylene sheet, offering exceptional resistance to acids and alkalis as well as superior corrosion resistance. It is formed by a single sheet that folds and unfolds in one piece; when installed at the rear and upper portion of the work area, it creates an air chamber between the work space and the exhaust duct connection, ensuring the uniform and efficient removal of contaminated gases with varying specific gravities. The deflector is mounted to the cabinet using a PP mounting base, allowing for repeated disassembly and reassembly to facilitate easy cleaning of the cabinet interior.

V. Venting Device

The exhaust outlet features an integrally molded, injection‑molded air‑collection hood made of PP. Its conical collection angle and streamlined design ensure excellent uniformity in air collection and low pressure loss, while minimizing gas turbulence. The bottom inlet is a rectangular opening, and the top outlet is a 250 mm diameter circular port, connected via a sleeve.

VI. Optional Worktop Options

The standard countertop is made of one-piece PP polypropylene (with optional options such as phenolic resin, marble, or ceramic), featuring a rounded‑arc design. It includes water‑deflecting edges on all four sides, with the front edge shaped in a gentle curve; the front water‑deflecting lip is thickened to 32 mm, providing high strength, excellent resistance to acids and alkalis, superior impact resistance, and easy cleaning, effectively preventing the spillage of hazardous liquids.

VII. Plastic Components

The lower cabinet door handles feature PVC straight‑line pulls, offering simple installation and a sleek, understated look. The door hinges are concealed PP hinges, which are easy to install, allow for adjustable gap settings, and deliver a clean, elegant appearance.

VIII. Hardware Accessories

Hardware screw components are galvanized for rust resistance or made of stainless steel, offering excellent resistance to acid and alkali corrosion.

Advantages and Disadvantages of Laboratory Bench Cabinet Materials

Advantages

Disadvantages

era

1

All-wood / precast concrete panels

Cheap

All-wood is prone to water damage.

From 1979 to 2003, this approach was widely used; in those days, even at the expense of higher costs, cement platforms were often tiled—particularly on university campuses and in large research institutes—while cabinet doors were made of wood panels.

2

Steel and wood (wooden cabinet) combined with a laminate countertop

Great value for money

Wood cabinet bodies are sealed along the edges, but they’re prone to mold growth when exposed to sugars and moisture—especially around the sink area, which can easily become moldy and damaged.

It has been widely used from 2003 to the present. If you’re renting a factory space or working with a limited budget, we recommend this option—provided you don’t mind that the cabinet body may swell when exposed to water, develop mold, and that the laminate surface is prone to scratches.

3

All-steel cabinet with a physicochemical board or ceramic countertop

Steel sheets with a bare thickness of 1.0 mm or greater offer excellent load-bearing capacity. Cold-rolled steel, after acid pickling and passivation, and finished with an ultra-fine epoxy powder coating, is highly durable and delivers a premium, high‑quality finish.

If galvanized steel sheet is used, paint chipping still occurs easily, because its adhesion performance is not as good as that of cold‑rolled steel sheet, which undergoes pickling, passivation, and baking before painting.

After 2010, it became quite popular. From 2010 to 2021, steel prices were high, and the manufacturing of related cabinets demanded strict quality standards. Since 2023, influenced by the real estate market, steel prices have plummeted, yet well‑crafted all‑steel products still hold their value relatively well. Moreover, all‑steel furniture varies in price depending on the style.

4

PP cabinet body (polypropylene)

Resistant to strong acids and alkalis, corrosion‑resistant, and impervious to moisture and water.

Soft, not heat-resistant

It exhibits excellent resistance to acid and alkali corrosion and outstanding moisture resistance. Since 2015, it has been widely used in chemical plants and electrochemical facilities (such as battery manufacturers).

5

SUS304 stainless steel cabinet

Heat-resistant, water-proof, and easy to clean.

Expensive, and resistant to no acids or scratches.

2005–present: High requirements and expensive construction; not recommended if there is significant acidity.

Conclusion: The market’s mainstream choice remains laminate countertops (phenolic resin‑based), which are easy to fabricate and transport, lightweight, and cost‑effective. Their drawbacks include poor resistance to high temperatures and abrasion, as well as stubborn water stains around the sink area. Before 2005, wood substrates often had laminate applied on top; imported brands were prohibitively expensive. Since 2005, solid‑core laminate has become standard. If you do opt for laminate, consider double‑laminate panels, which are less prone to warping—though thermal expansion and contraction in northern climates can still cause some deformation or curling. Next come ceramic countertops. Prior to 2008, ceramics were imported and extremely pricey—about ten times the cost of laminate. After 2016, their price is slightly higher than laminate but significantly lower than premium imported brands like Kinds, Weishengya, and Fumeijia. Ceramic countertops excel in heat and abrasion resistance, resist bacterial growth, and remain dimensionally stable—outperforming laminate in these respects (except for susceptibility to penetrating acids such as hydrofluoric acid; otherwise, their acid–alkali resistance is quite good). The downsides are their weight and hardness, with fabrication, transportation, and installation costs roughly 35% higher than for laminate. If budget allows, ceramic countertops are a strong option; for those prioritizing cost‑effectiveness, laminate remains the better choice.
