Abstract

To strengthen the informationization of philosophy and the social sciences and to advance innovation in disciplinary frameworks, academic perspectives, and research methodologies, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences officially established the Social Security Laboratory in Beijing on the 17th. Social security issues are vital to both national development and people’s livelihoods, serving as an essential component of social development. In response to key challenges in social security, the Academy has undertaken sustained experimental projects that are replicable and verifiable. 　　Social security is a matter of national importance and people’s livelihood, and it constitutes an essential component of social development. The Chinese Academy of Social Sciences has undertaken replicable, verifiable, and sustained experimental initiatives to address the core issues of social security. Guided by the nation’s strategic objectives for social security development and drawing on international best practices, it has focused on establishing a comprehensive social security indicator system, regularly publishing data and reports to all sectors of society, and conducting analyses and forecasts of major issues, abnormal indicators, and emerging trends, thereby gradually building an early-warning mechanism.

　　It is reported that this laboratory is one of the first pilot projects under the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences’ Innovation Program for Philosophy and the Social Sciences.
